Let’s step forward, together!

Give Some, Take Some – RGA’s Community Fundraising Initiative

As a non-profit sports association, RGA is deeply committed to its mission, vision, and values. Our goal is to provide the best possible experience in the sport of artistic gymnastics for all our members. To make this possible, we regularly undertake special projects that go beyond what standard program fees can support. For these designated projects, we rely on the generosity of our community. This is where our "Give Some, Take Some" fundraising initiative comes in.

Why we fundraise:

Fundraising plays a vital role in helping RGA manage and enhance its programs while keeping fees as affordable as possible. Program fees alone do not cover all expenses, especially those associated with travel costs, competition support, and facility upgrades. Our fundraising efforts help bridge this gap, ensuring that all athletes continue to benefit from high-quality training and opportunities.

This initiative truly comes to life through the selflessness, creativity, time, and kindness extended by our community. Over the years, we have been incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received—from donations of items and services to volunteer hours and enthusiastic participation in events and activities we schedule.

How your support helps:

Our fundraising efforts have and will continue to support the following:

  • The Gym Enhancement Fund: used to purchase equipment and conduct upgrades that benefit all participants.

  • The Athlete Travel Fund: which helps cover some expenses for athletes training for/competing at senior levels of competitions/special competitions such as BC Winter Games, Western Canadian Championships, and National competitions.

How it works:

RGA organizes a variety of fundraising activities throughout the season and invites all members, families, and community supporters to get involved. Every dollar raised is allocated toward current active initiatives, and every contribution makes a difference.

Whether you're giving your time, resources, or ideas—your support helps us reach higher goals and create a stronger gymnastics community.

Together, let’s reach our perfect 10!

Mandatory Fundraising Fee – Team Program Members

All Team Program members are required to contribute a mandatory fundraising fee, as outlined in the annual registration package. A part of this fee helps cover additional costs incurred by coaches when attending competitions—an essential part of our competitive team program.

While athletes participate in competitions only when they are deemed ready, all team athletes contribute to a shared fund that supports the logistical needs of the program. These funds primarily assist with travel expenses to local meets, including (but not limited to) mileage and transportation costs for attending coaches. For away/travel meets, the expenses incurred are split equally amongst all specific team athletes scheduled to attend, irrespective of athletes attending the meet. (exceptions apply).

This collective contribution ensures that we can maintain a high standard of coaching support during competitions while keeping overall program fees manageable and equitable for all.

NOTE: Starting season 2025-26, the monies fundraised by members when participating in our initiatives will not contribute to the mandatory fundraising fee. All funds raised  still contribute to the priorities determined by programs for the season.

Goods and Services Contributions (In-Kind Donations)

Goods and services contributions—also known as in-kind donations—provide valuable support to our programs and events by offering items or expertise that the Association would otherwise need to purchase. The creativity of our community, both within the Association and beyond, truly shines when members contribute items or services that we may not have considered ourselves. These thoughtful contributions keep us connected and grounded, as our members often have first-hand knowledge of current trends and what their children would truly appreciate.

Some examples of meaningful in-kind contributions we have gratefully received include:

·         Goods: such as equipment, gym supplies, office supplies and anything else we reach out to the community for.

·         Gift certificates or activity passes: which we use to reward athletes for their achievements and to keep them motivated and engaged

These contributions help us reduce costs and ensure that more of our resources can be directed toward benefiting our athletes and enhancing our programs. We warmly welcome and deeply appreciate the generosity of individuals, families, and businesses in our community who support us in this way.
